Glass Gallery Doumu is an exquisite glass-making studio producing lovely glass products and offers glass making classes located in Soga between Hirafu Village and Niseko Village. Glass Gallery Doumu workshop has been in business since 1984 producing fine glass works and is owned by Masako Kitajima, a member of the Japan Glass Art Crafts Association. She has received Modern Artists Association awards and holds individual exhibitions in many places nationwide. Details of exhibitions can be found on their website. Authentic glass crafts are on sale at the shop and discounted sales are held occasionally. Glass crafts such as tumblers, wine glasses, tokkuri (sake pot), sake glasses and bowls can be ordered by phone or email. Items will be produced on order and delivered in two to three weeks. Please make an inquiry for your favourite items (figures and colours) can be produced according to availability of material supplies. Sample colours can be seen on their website. Glass making classes (approximate time: 2 hours) are provided starting at 3,000 yen per person. Booking is recommended for weekend and national holiday classes due to numbers of clients. Classes for groups are available and it is suggested to make inquiries. For those seeking to be experts at glass crafts, sandblasting classes are offered using unique glass. Beginners are welcome to join a class and classes for professional level students planning to open their own businesses are also provided. Numbers of students are limited.
