Green Farm Cafe is located right on the corner and essentially IS downtown Hirafu (the space was formerly known as the Downtown Cafe, and some locals still refer to it as such). It is a great spot for a cup of coffee and to hang out when catching up on some emails, having a meeting, or taking a moment to catch ones thoughts. The staff are excellent, as friendly and knowledgeable about the area as you could possibly ask for and always provide service with a smile. And the menu consists of locally sourced organic veggies from Niseko’s own Green Farm. The tagline is: “Food From Farm to Fork”, and it’s very apt. Niseko Green Farm is a 34 acre farm that produces 100% organic fruit and vegetables which are free from chemicals and pesticides. They continue to produce some vegetables and herbs in winter in their greenhouse so there’s always something fresh. Try the locally produced Tokachi beef burger (made with Hokkaido beef), or choose from their selection of meat pies and sausage rolls. They also have a selection of delicious cakes to choose from, as well as fresh baked bread. Plenty of seating and wide open windows with a great view of Hirafu’s main street right up to the lifts make this the best place to sit with a hot cup of coffee while you observe the conditions up on the slopes. On sunny days you can see clear to the top of the mountain and watch as people carve their way down the slopes. And in summer the outdoor patio seating makes for a great place to relax outside and enjoy the seasonal menu. They are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
