For arguably the best burgers in Hirafu village, make sure you visit JoJo’s Cafe. Located on the second floor of the NAC complex, JoJo’s can’t be beat for juicy burgers you can really sink your teeth into. Wide open, spacious, with plenty of seating for large groups, this is a great place for lunch or dinner between activities. The staff are friendly and speak pretty good English, but service can get a bit slow at peak times. The wooden tables and chairs are also good for those coming in with their outdoor gear on, no worries about mess and whatnot. The cool thing about this place is the climbing wall that comes up through the floor in the back center of the restaurant. Provides plenty of entertainment during lunch hour as you can see the adventurous try to climb their way to the top. A good place for parents to sit and have a quiet meal while leaving their kids in the care of the climbing wall staff. Can keep an eye on them and cheer them on from your seat. The menu includes pizza, pasta, and a variety of other items, and one of the best things is that the food is sourced locally. 100% Hokkaido beef, and awesome chips made with Kutchan potatoes, which all the burgers come with on the side. NAC is located a 5 min walk from the center of Hirafu, just down the hill from the Lawson’s convenience store, and just across and down from the Kutchan local bus stop. They’ve got a big parking lot which is shared with the Taj Mahal Indian curry restaurant and a few other businesses. It’s usually pretty easy to get a table, but it can get crowded at times as large groups come to join NAC activities in both summer and winter. When the place is full of school kids it can get a bit crowded, but hey, that just lends to the family vibe.
